Made it to the front page of Yahoo! for a few hours. The Yahoo! version of “Living My Life Faster”. My parents are so proud.
Guess it can only go down from here…
UPDATE!!!!! As you can see by the comment below, Carhartt web developers have updated the website and have added a very detailed zooming feature. Wonderful! I am absolutely amazed that they saw the post. The internet is so fucking awesome!

So, I was looking at the Carhartt website tonight because my current pants are about to either disintegrate or blow out on me and what I found was most disturbing. I was checking things out and decided to get a closer look at a pair of carpenter’s overhauls to see the attached pockets. To my surprise I saw no greater detail when I enlarged the image!! What I saw was the original image blown-up 400%. And it’s not like they were trying to save bandwidth or whatever by using the original image and setting the size to a larger value. No, this was an entirely different file. This is absolutely ridiculous behavior on the part of the Carhartt web developers, and makes the site just look like crap.
What you’re looking at (from left to right) is (are?): the original image as seen on the Carhartt website; the top right part of the image you see after clicking the ‘Larger Image’ link; and a photo I took of my current pair of pants, which shows the amount of detail (though with less grit, grime and otherwise) that the larger image should have. Their shenanigans irk me to no end.
Am I a huge geek because this bothers me? Yes. Am I a bigger geek because I spent a Friday night looking at the Carhartt website? I’ll let you decide. And… you’ll note that there are never ever any mistakes on my website. I would never be so carelesss.
