Haven’t done one of these in a long time… Here’s two.

Just picked up the latest issue of Swindle Quarterly, Shepard Fairey’s newest magazine endeavor. Nice little blip-article in there about the BoxBots, written by Mr. Newton.
I’ve always kind of wondered if there was a way to take the BoxBot idea and turn it into 3d. Well, after some round-a-bout web surfing, I found Michael A. Salter and his Styrobots. The site’s all framed up, so the content is not bookmarkable. I can only guess it’s because he seems to think copyright is of utmost importance. Maybe I’m just missing the irony or sarcasm of his use of all the copyright stuff on the site.

Oh my, for the first time ever…! All the BoxBots I have ever made are online. I even added the photocopies of the “I thought lost” BoxBots from Antarctica. Hopefully they are enjoying their homes with Brian, JP, and others. And don’t miss the two WebWarriors bots of Xbox.com and Gamcube.com. I can’t really officially call them BoxBots, since, well, they aren’t made from boxes. You understand.
What’s interesting to see in this thumbnail is the fact that I seem to be making the BoxBots bigger and bigger as time goes on (they are in reverse chronological order). Probably won’t be doing any new ones any time soon though. I’d like to do a few more based on websites, but we’ll see.
I updated the BoxBots that other people have sent to me as well, though the images are still a little rough. But they’re all there, so, that’s something.
What else?… well, I added 3 e-mail surveys that I did a few months ago and were hidden away from me. The Marcel Proust one I am especially fond of.

A couple nights ago I was inspired to finally turn these two six-pack boxes into BoxBots. They’re two of the biggest ones I’ve made, at 22×28″ and 20×24″. I have no idea where I’m going to keep them.

Well, thanks to the unbelievable 14 inning, 5+ hour game between the Red Sox and the Yankees, I was able to do the Dos Equis XX flying bot in extra innings. The six-pack bottle holder seems to be a great inspiration. I think I’ll stick to it, with the benefit being a fat gut.

Game 6 was a shorter game, complete with cops on the field, and I was able to create this new Peroni bot during the 9 innings.
