Even our quarters are shrinking!
Not really of course, but while doing some research on coins for my series of Economic Turnaround images, I found Bert Hickman’s absolutely mind-blowing store featuring all kinds of coins shrunken via High Voltage/Pulsed Power Engineering. The above image is a ‘may I be struck dead with Tesla lightning if I’m lying’ scan of the shrunken quarter I bought on top of a normal quarter.
Whoa.
While doing a search for “changing clothes” in Flickr today, I came across my third Doppelgänger. Here are the images that I found to be the most similar:

Found this drawing on Ellsworth Avenue today. I almost made up for when I dropped my coffee on Craig Street. Check out the hemp in her hair.

I got a postcard from Playboy the other day. Not sure how I got on their mailing list, but my collection of vintage pr0n is another matter entirely. What I found interesting was the interactive feature of the postcard. In order to get the special rate of 1$ an issue, you have to peel off a special foil sticker and place it within the designated ’sticker goes here’ area and return the card. Now, this was a two-piece perforated postcard that you rip in half before sending. Would you think that they’d put the sticker on the half you keep so there’s at least some sense of effort? You would, but you’d be wrong. They put the sticker one inch to the left of the designated area, begging the question ‘Who the hell would actually move it?!?’ Oh, and in case you have tunnel vision and can only see in one inch increments, there’s a handy arrow showing you where the designated area is.

I’m thinking about getting new glasses soon and because my brain’s a little slow lately, I looked in the Verizon SuperPages (Yellow Pages) for ‘Glasses’. I knew this wasn’t going to be the right word, but they usually have a handy ‘for glasses, see optical-retail’ listing. I find the Glass-Golf page and look!, there’s an illustration of a pair of glasses in the leftover design space. I look over the page and there is no listing for glasses. Huh. I look back at the illustration and the text actually states it’s easy to find glasses or whatever you’re looking for in the SuperPages. No mention of ‘optical’, ‘eyeglasses’ or anything. I found this to be really hilarious. You can see all of Page 412 GLASS-GOLF and see for yourself.
That was two days ago. Last night (and this morning again) I called Verizon to set-up a disconnect service date. I got the automatic messaging system. Pressed 1 for English. “Verizon is here to… blah blah blah. This menu has five options. Please choose the one that best meets your needs.”…”This menu has five options. Please choose the one that best meets your needs.”…”This menu has five options. Please choose the one that best meets your needs.” Over and over. I just press a number. It takes me to another menu that tells me options 1 and 2 and gets caught on telling me about option 2, over and over again. This made me extremely mad at the time, but afterwards I could appreciate the distinctly technological glitch.
And finally, while not known for excellent customer service, I had an unusually pleasant experience on the phone with an operator at Verizon (once I found a human-attended phone number). She was so nice, asking me about going to school and all that as we waited for the system to do its things. I left feeling decent. How bizarre.
It’s a good thing Michelle and I forgot to send the ol’ Beige G3 with her to my parents’. Now I have a scanner again! It’s a piece of royal crap, but I get to scan things like this gem I found on 2005 March 17. Oh look! Money on the ground! Roll over the image to get the gist of the find. Out-f’ing-rageous!

Man, I wish I had been a grafitti artist in my younger days. Then I could have some control over how the eyes and mouths look. Give it time man… Anyway, these are just some tests of using gloves as ghost stencils.

Three recent/current projects I’ve been/am working on. Houses made from junk mail. An embroidered shirt. Test of a spray-painted shirt.
Also got a whole bunch of new drawings up, as well as most of the BoxBots. See the top right navigation for the link. They’ve moved directory locations, so sorry to those who have links to them. But they’ll be permanent now. Well, until I change them around again.

I decided to see what would happen if I put my phone numbers into Google’s Image search. These are the results. The two photos are my mobile phone, and the little graphic is my home phone. If you are able to “backwards hack” what my numbers are based on these images, you are amazing. Give me a call sometime.

I found this drawing last night, walking down West End Ave. It makes me want to spend all day drawing. Amazing.
I also found a love note on my walk.
