The Daily Photo Project and the list of related photo projects was mentioned in yesterday’s NY Times article (sorry, free registration required by NY Times). It was mainly about Noah Kalina and the phenomenon surrounding his ‘Everyday’ video.
On that note, Noah also sent me a link to Scion’s 3 Years Advert created by LA-based motion graphics firm, Buck. It’s obviously playing off of Ahree Lee’s ‘Me’ video and is a little disturbing. It’s not disturbing because it’s a “rip-off” but because it plays with the idea that someone loves her car so much that she wills her head to become square. That’s sick.
Also, someone e-mailed me and said that there is a Dunkin Donuts advert out there in a similar vein. If you have a link for it… make a comment to this post! I’d be interested to see it.
I signed up for a YouTube account. I uploaded the Heart motion graphics video I did for Josh’s podcast. On the 1st of October, the Daily Photo Project will be 8 years old, and I’ll be uploading an animation of all the photos a couple days later. Hopefully by then I’ll be able to pick some copyright-free music as a soundtrack.
The ‘Heart’ themed video podcast that Joshua put together is now online. You can subscribe to this url in iTunes: feed://conflux.org/podcast/conflux.rss or there is a direct link: http://www.conflux.org/podcast/heart.mp4
Of course, if you’ve been following the blog, you’ll have seen a good portion of my submission in previous posts. But you’ll be able to check out a smidgen of work by Justin, Mike, Keetra, Joshua, and Ryan too…
Here are two test movies (latest QuickTime) for the heart motion piece. Hopefully the podcast will up and ready for download soon. You can be sure I’ll link to it when it becomes available. They are videos of me walking in from the left, saying “I Love You” and then walking out to the right. The first one is of the slices going left to right, the second movie is of the slices going right to left. Spooky.
This is a screenshot of a test for the heart motion work… Hopefully a video will be available soon too. And then I’ll go into more detail about why it looks the way it does…
