I have to give a HUGE THANKS to Alberto Frigo who eMailed me and sent the link to Tehching Hsieh’s One Year Performance. In 1980, Tehching punched a time clock hooked up to a camera in a gallery every hour on the hour for a year. I had seen a little blurb somewhere once and have been trying to re-find info on this project for 4–5 years now. I am so excited by this!
There’s even a movie clip of the project at the bottom of the page that’s quite nice. I wish I could get the One Year Performance DVD-ROM, but I’m broke. Anyone willing to support me by gifting me a copy would be notably thanked.
I have added Tehching’s project, as well as Alberto’s own ‘interaction’ photo project to the Obsessive Photo Links page.

Did I ever tell you about my friend Randall Hoyt’s “Kalendar” project that he did while a grad student at Yale? He took a self-portrait every day for a year wearing a Tshirt printed w/ the day and w/ a wooden number for the month somewhere in the photograph. It’s not active anymore, but you should write him to get more info: http://www.double-nine.com
You know, of all of the strange things to come across… The woman this guy (from the time click movie) tied himself to for a year was one of the uh… “priests” at my cousin’s wedding about 8-9 years ago. She was in the process of getting lots of circular tattoos all over her body to represent chakra. Damn.
Did you ever end up getting the DVD?
Sadly, no DVD for JK…
