These are amazing. Great concept. So are these supposed to work similar to the security envelopes but instead of making people secure about their things, they are insecure because they believe people will be able to see their information, but they won’t really?
Great pieces of art, but I really wonder how useful they would be in terms of sending things. Maybe they would make a great envelope for a birthday card.
like it very much, maybe it would make me write letters again. as i am bron in Romania i think this is a good answer to totalitarian methods – during communist era all letters were opened by securitate employees, so they could read them. But with your insecurity envelopes, i would feel more secure. it reminds me also that i found my parents’ letters in the securitate archive in bucharest, read but not forwarded. Thank you for this work, it undid a traumatic experience!
Wonderful project! I have it set to feature on the Letter Writers Alliance blog for 9.25.09. Here’s a little appreciation photo for you: LWA badge!
Cheers,

I love your work, which I found out about awhile ago from “the Daily Heller” or drawn.ca not sure which.
You are smart and funny as well as being a wonderful maker of things.
I do tons of intricate stuff too and I love to cut with tiny scissors/ my website is two years out of date but you can get an idea.
I just put your site up on my facebook page. Are you on there? If so, we should be friends. –S.
and another great work!
i like your peaces very much! it really reflexes our time…
greetings from Germany, Malte!
Awesome. I saw this in my RSS reader and already figured it was your work before seeing the blog title.
I just had an idea. You could create images of fractals on those envelopes…now that would be aweseome. The bigger the envelope, the better.
these are gorgeous, man. that last one, the pale yellow, is just sick. love those little blocky areas where language should be, too… well done.
Great art man!
pretty interesting stuff. i have to say the brown one is my favorite.
Wow. That is impressive.
Those are the most beautiful man made things that I have seen in quite some time.
Make sure you not sent cash money inside the envelope.
would a blank check be okay?
I love the statement this makes
oh my god i’m blown away by your site!
Some one has wa-a-a-a-y to much free time !!!!
Actually, someone just uses his “free time” to create things.
oposite to you that has no free time for inteligence…
this is really neat!
wow but what kinds of things could you send in these?
Letters, for one thing. Though, anything that fits in an envelope, but isn’t too small to fall out the holes.
I love the honeycomb cubes, Jonathan! Any news on series #1?
Thanks for the new ideas/inspiration it has given me.
Brilliant. Did you use a laser cutter? I’m fascinated by the meticulous details of both your and Keetra’s creations.
Yes, I had access to a laser cutter while at Cranbrook.
These are lovely! What a neat idea. The brown one is my favorite I think.
Your idea surprised me in a good way.

These are so elegant. I am in awe.
This is beautiful art work.
Keep it up!
