Letterpress Business Cards & Postcards

Letterpress Business Cards
These are from last summer’s visit with Kiyo & Ulli in Germany. They are setting up a letterpress shop in Dusseldorf, and graciously printed these for me while I was there. In order to get the thickness of paper I wanted, I had to glue two sheets together. Fun!

The designs are all based off of Japanese spam that I have received in the past.

  1. Cool, do you actually use this as a business card? I am trying to find your work address in there ;)

  2. Kevin: Seeing as how I’ve moved about 20 times in the past 12 years, I can’t really put a permanent address on such a card. Better for people to call and/or e-mail (which I don’t want to publicly display online).

Once I get a studio space to work in, I’ll put an address somewhere.

  3. I wanted to post on the box bots, but could not find such a place…
All I am asking is…Where do baby boxbots come from?

I’d like to order plain letterpress business cards made on hand made white stock in steel gray simple typeface that would say:

Is this something you could and would do?

    Many thanks,

  5. Lisa: When a mother BoxBot and a father BoxBot love each other very much, they exchange UPC symbols. Later that night, they get recycled together. A baby BoxBot is created 12 hours later.

Cheri: I do not do letterpress myself. I thought I had explained in the description that I had a friend in Germany letterpress these for me. Feel free to consult with him about design and printing estimates. He does an amazing job.

I have edited your contact information from the comment, but am very surprised that you would broadcast it so.

  6. I love these.
    Has an abstract/accidental typography look.
Do you sell or would you like to exchange some (I take & print photos)

  7. LKS: I don’t sell the postcards as they’re still for personal use only.

  8. Hi JK,

These look fabulous. You can see the spam mail/email ascii art origin, but you totally turned it into your own. Love the Princess Peach shirt too!
