Domestic Spacial Turbulence

A model house installed through the wall, allowing it to be spun while an accompanying video played on the opposite wall.

  3. I had 3 idea’s as to how the action accomplished. The first was that of pure graphic motion mechanic’s.The second was the mean’s described using miniature object’s in something of a room type enclosure. The third was with the room static and a magnetic drum rotating around the miniature space, and each of the object’s having magnetizeable material embedded in them.Other degree’s of video separation seem pplicable.

  5. Your work is amazing and creative. It’s really great. I’ve checked out only four of your projects thus far — living fast, live free or die, matchbook sign language, and this spinning house with doll furniture inside.

your attention to detail and originality of thinking are nothing short of phenomenal, and coming from me, that’s a lot. I’m a pretty damn original person.

Thank you for making this world a more awesome and creative place to be in through your awesomely insane and well executed projects.

(hey it would not let me type in thirteen)

    Hi,
It would be more funny if you add small dolls ^^

    • not everything is funny.

Well, I contend that also, not everything is serious. This project I did like, and you as the artist obviously control said project, but from another point of view, the kind of odd morbidity of containing small humans is also interesting and darkly “funny.” Granted not everyone feels that way, but isn’t that kind of art?

  7. hahaha, it was good :D

  8. hahahah i laughed my ass of.. awesome! lol

  9. On spam protection: What if someone didn’t know how to add?

On the sound: Listening to the video for that long made it start to sound like music, kinda like african drums with a high bpm.

    • On spam protection: If someone is not able to add single digit numbers, s/he should not be allowed to use the internet.

On the sound: I’m amazed you made it long enough for that to happen. Most people find it a quick annoyance.

  10. Hmmm! Watching that video gave me a cool idea. One of the ‘problems’ (I hate to phrase it that way, it’s not really a problem, but it’s something that could be changed to take it in a different direction) with this structure is that the furniture seemed to get caught in a loop, but I think if you added a second axis the churning would be more chaotic and visually interesting. And I guess as a practical application it’d be cool for a music video or something, if you replaced the window with a solid color and the chroma-keyed in a background, and then maybe super imposed people to be standing inside the room amongst the flying furniture, it’d create a cool effect.

    • All valid suggestions if I am able to return to this project and make another version. I will say that the furniture getting caught in a loop was part of the effect I was going for. It was supposed to be monotonous and almost pathetic.

  12. Once you wish to be natural…you become common.

This was in fact pathetic…in attempting to be unique. Try harder.

  13. This reminded me of Waiting for Godot. Probably because of the monotony and degeneration.

  14. Did you try it without the window?

  15. (I really like it)

  16. I still like it, today!

  17. Heard you were at mcmurdo.

    Cheers, and happy holidays.

  18. crank dat domestic spacial turbulence

  19. I think this would look even more interesting if there wasn’t a window, because I found that being able to see something turning behind the window slightly detracted from the effect of the whole thing for me.

    Greetings from Glasgow.

Love this. It gave me the impression that the furniture was possessed or something. I like the presence of the window. Found it cute. Although I find myself focussing on it for a short periods which led me to feel quite dizzy.

    Its look amazing

I think you have feet the camera inside the house model.when it is spinning, camera also spinning with house model and cause of spinning with house it is giving experience to viewer like the inside view of house is steal with camera frame but other elements are spining with extrem motion and you have used elements like intereior of house so its look like illusion .

    really nice.
