I’ve been interested in the idea of a 3d alternative browser for a while now. And today I found Sitestepper at The Museum of Contemporary Art Digital Gallery. The project is from last June, and I’m not sure if I particularily agree with the manner in which it renders itself, or the static nature of the room’s contents, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I, of course, chose to map my site into the space, with the results above. My favorite part is the bookshelf which acts as a device for hyperlinking. Too bad it couldn’t pull any of the colors from my site for some reason.
